Happy Pill on a gloomy day

It's such a gloomy weather out today. There's a storm and I can't really go outside. For some reason (maybe PMS) I felt so ugly today. So my honey bunny kept on comforting me and telling me I'm pretty.
He said I look like an angel and "(nv) your eyes.. they are the most beautiful eyes i've ever seen.. I see your soul in them.. i see heaven. your nose.. I love love rubbing it and wiping your sniffles away when you cry.. your lips.. perfect lips.. most adorable lips when you pout and when you smile.."

I feel so lucky having him in my life.

PS. I'm sorry for the lack of photos. I promise to make up for it next time!

And because it's sunday and it's raining, I'd like to share with you the song I sang to my honey bunny.

Resort 2014

So here they are! *drum roll* some of my favorites from Resort 2014. :)

Chloe. Relax. That is what this collection says to me. Just looking at these clothes make me feel so comfy. It also got me thinking about doing all white this summer, much like the last outfit in the photo above.

Issa. Although to be honest I didn't like the clothes in this collection with aquatic life print, I do love the clothes above. The colors remind me so much of the sea. The blue-green water, the bright warm yellow sun, the blue sky...ahhh vacation! *day dreaming*

Narciso Rodriguez. I love the diamond pattern laminated/laser cut satin details.

Stella McCartney. This collection mixed tough girl snake skin and feminine powder pink and florals. Who would've though that could go together? Stella McCartney did and I love it! (note: I'm thinking of copying the model's hairstyle. I already have the fringe and the short hair. I just have to make it wavy. do you think it would suit me?)

Jason Wu. This collection is my most favorite so far! I fell in love with the tropical details made subtle by making them silhouettes only. I want the whole collection! *heart eyes*

P.S. I am currently girl crushing over Jason Wu's model, Jacquelyn Jablonski.

If you want to see more photos of these collections and the other collections, you may visit style.com (source of photos above) just like I did! To be honest it was so hard to pick my favorites because there's just so many amazing collections.

How about you? What are your favorite Resort 2014 collections so far? xo ~Janine

Shine bright like a diamond

Just recently, I realized that I'm in a style phase wherein I am loving basic articles with that extra something. For example, this top I'm wearing is a black V-neck but it's weaved with silver. Under the sunlight I really do shine like a diamond. And yes, it is beyond hard not to notice the shining shimmering splendor of it. I gotta stay out of highways and roads though because I might cause a car accident. haha. I am currently hoarding stuff like this. lol.
The outfit I'm wearing is my effort to cope up with the ever bipolar weather we're having these past few weeks here. It's been veeeery hot in the morning then one moment it starts raining hard, and I mean thunderstorm hard. So I opted for long sleeves, shorts (to avoid wet pants), and waterproof shoes.

A brief summary of what's coming up here on my blog: (1) My favorites from Resorts 2014 [and may I say I fashiorgasmed (yes I know that's not a word but I'm using it still anyway. haha) when I saw Stella McCartney's collection] (2) DIY Kimonos (3) Blogs I seriously stalk (4) DIY Nail arts

Black and Silver V-neck - Generous
Silver watch - Air Force (dad's)

Abbey Line

Funny thing about about this photo, I wanted a Beatles Abbey Road like shot, but couldn't find a pedestrian  that isn't crowded. So I ended up having Abbey Line. lol.

These days, something about flats attract me. I've worn my black flats so much that I just had to buy more. The golden flats I found is a real treasure. It's simple yet it has that extra something. Plus I love using gold to go with my galaxy print top.

Graduation

Last April 27, 2013, I graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor's degree in Food Technology. I now work as a Quality Assurance Analyst for one of the subsidiaries of a leading Taiwanese food company.

I'd like to share with you a few things I've learned going through college. First is that time really goes by so quickly. 4 years went by before I could even say "Happy Graduation!". There are so many things I wish I could've done differently. Like wishing I took this and that subject more seriously, and thinking maybe if I studied harder, could I have graduated a Summa Cum Laude? So, I'd like to say that you should never ever take a second for granted. Make every second of your life count, because life goes by so quickly, there's no room for regrets. Second, not all "friends" you gain are real friends. Some of them are just there for a period of time, only when they need you, so you've got to be careful. Choose your friends wisely. If they love you because they need you, get rid of them. If they need you because they love you, keep them. Third, you don't need to be someone else to fit in. Back in highschool, there's so much fuss about being popular, but that won't matter when you grow older. Stay true to yourself. Find confidence in who you are and it will take you so many places. That's what you really need in life to be successful and happy.

Our graduation attire, instead of a toga, is an ecru/beige colored dress for girls and "barong" for guys. I decided I'd wear a vintage dress that's a few inches above the knee in length. I already bought it, only to find out later that we're supposed to wear a dress that reaches midcalf or longer. So, to fix it, I had a sheer skirt custom made to wrap around my short dress and voila! *Mary Jane Platforms from Zanea at Robinsons Mall Lipa.

For accessories, I toned it down to a minimum but used ones that would stand out. I decided to stick with gold accessories to compliment my ecru colored outfit.

Funny how my hand looks like an owl with the bangle. lol!

Here are a few photos of me with my friends before the graduation ceremony which took ages to finish.

toodles for now! x Janine

What if?

Instead of describing my outfit and this and that.. I would like to share something with you..

I’ve been thinking about events that have happened to me these past few years; thinking about the things I could’ve done differently. Then, I remembered hearing this from the movie Letters to Juliet:

" Dear Claire, “What” and “If” are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don’t know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it’s never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn’t it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart. I don’t know what a love like Juliet’s feels like: love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for, but I’d like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I’d have the courage to seize it. And Claire, if you didn’t, I hope one day that you will. All my love, Juliet"

(Sorry for the blurred photos. I was in a rush that time and I didn't know it was out of focus. I was sooooo bummed about it :| )

It's true. "What if?" is something that could haunt a person for a very long time.

I'd like to share with you something very personal. Like what happened to Claire in Letters to Juliet, I let go of my love at once, he didn't even know how I felt, and I regretted it so much. I waited for him to come back, without the reassurance that he would. One day, he came back. This time I said to myself I won't let go no matter what. And so even when things got hard for us, coz we didn't meet at a good time, nor at a good situation. Even when we were going through so much, I never gave up and nor did he. Now, the skies are finally becoming clear for us and we're watching everything become brighter than the sun step by step. And it's safe to say, I now have no what ifs. I am beyond happy that I never gave up.
